    Re: Monsoon Malabar AA

I had someone roast my one and only bag of MM and they accidentally let it finish quite dark CS11.....

It was great at 2 weeks post roast, and at its best at about 3 weeks. My only complaint was a hint of smokiness (which disappeared after 2 weeks), but I was happy to be able to be drinking it at all, it was so dark.

I use a Gene Cafe and do two 250gm batches of Brazil (CS8-9) and one of MM (CS10), then blend. Wait 5-7 days and it rocks.

The MM give great body plus a crema that will not quit.

unless its from a different shipment
We got the airfreighted samples in November and the actual shipment is still on the water so yes, it is certainly from a different crop.

I expect what you have is last seasons monsoon and with many different mills in India the quality can be vastly different.

Not all beans are created equal. ;-)

Im a big fan of the MM but i must say, its not the kind of coffee i could make my daily drop.

One of the floor staff at work can smell it whenever i use it as my coffee of the day and she has described it as the following..
    *Baked Beans
    *Creamed Corn
    *Fish fingers
    *Steamed dim sims

Is tinned food a coffee description? lol

I took some home from work before Xmas and was still using it at 25 days post roast and i think it was at its best at around days 16-20.

I just picked up 5kgs of it the past monday so ill have to give it a miss unless its from a different shipment?
