    I am a bit confused:

    Frappe comes in packets????

    So what exactly is frappe?

      Re: Coffee humour

The most popular coffee type in Greece.

Its made by using Nescafe instant and shaking it with cold water to make a froth.
It goes down a treat on those hot summer days over there.
Usually ice is added to keep it cold and sugar to taste.

        Nescafe = instant diuresis

Couldnt you use fresh espresso instead?

          No.

          Its all about the frothing.
They prefer Nescafe because its spray dried.
Moccona for example is freeze dried so doesnt froth as well.

I assume espresso also wouldnt froth to their satisfaction.
Make sure you read the wikipedia link to understand the Greeks attitude.

Forget the water and cats piss instant.

Try this for the sophisticated (or crazy, depending on your perspective) palate:

Chinotto with a dash of espresso.

Coca cola with a dash of espresso. Froths up nicely.

Coffee sport liqueur with a dash of espresso.

Am about to try some almond essence with espresso. Could be THE sensation to put me in nirvana.

                Chinotto is an acquired taste.

Ill take youre word for it, if I lose enough taste buds to enjoy chinotto, then I might go back to Moccona.

                    Best Frappe recipe:

Water, Ice, Ice cream powder, double espresso!!!!

As for crazy soft drink espresso blends....

Try L&P (nz drink available here now) with espresso on top (like a long black)

Oh yes!!!!! which do you prefer, the San Pelgrino (is that the spelling) or the amatil one- Bisleri. For a rip your throat out thirst quencher I like the Bisleri, for a subtle drink with a Bar Italia meal (Norton St Leichhardt) the traditional stuff is best. I dont think the Bisleri has any traditional ingredients- the older stuff is very much citris based

As far as I know New Zealand Natural ice-cream stores have been selling L&P for awhile.

Cant go past a L&P spider: pour L&P into a highball glass or similar, and add some home-made vanilla ice-cream

                          YUM!

Most of the IGAs here on the Sunshine Coast sell L&P, maybe its all the kiwi tourists in Noosa. seriously though, try it with ice and an espresso on top.
