  • Where to buy green beans in Melbourne

Im new to all of this roasting stuff. But have got my popper going furiously on the starter pack, and stocks are getting low. Just notice that it says December beanbay sold out!

I wasnt aware that this was a monthly thing. Anyway, where do you buy green beans? Can someone please help. Im hooked on the taste of freshly roasted beans, and enjoy the process. My supply is due to run out soon. :P

    Hope someone can help..

    Darcy,

Depending on where you are. Some roasters sell small amounts of green beans.
I know that at least one sponsor sells green beans - coffeehit

And a number of the sponsors sell roasted beans if you need some good quality stuff to get you by until the next beanbay (Jan or Feb).

The other sponsor in Melbourne who deal with beans is Veneziano. They are in Abbotsford and are a great bunch of people.

They have hosted a couple of bean divides this year and are very generous with their time and knowledge.

They have got some exciting new stuff coming up soon. Perhaps send them a PM or contact them via their website and see if some of their upcoming innovations might be of use to you.

        Brett.

          darcy.

          beanbay is great.

veneziano is definitely a good place to visit. been quite a good learning experience the few times ive been there.

theres the coffee company at balaclava - most green beans there $16 per kg. they have quite a range.

other places ive found around melbourne are the ethiopian/african grocery shops. i know theres one in newmarket and also a couple in footscray. they stock ethiopian harrar and sidamo green beans - usually around the $10 per kg mark. there one i go to when i run out is on racecourse rd in newmarket (opposite subway).

hope this carries you along your roasting journey as it is mine
