Originating from Australia and New Zealand..

Surely it HAD to come from a singularity at some point.
or was it invented on a ship half way across the Tasman by an Aussie and a Kiwi in total co-operation. ;D ;D
my guess is that its one of the accidental aussie inventions, much like a lamington.
