If only Schnüffler was the German word for snobs ... , but it can be translated as spy, sniffer or snooper.
From this point on, as confusing as it may be, I will be known as Kaffee Schnüffler. ;D I only picked MochaMaster cause I couldnt think of anything better at the time.
Very confusing indeed... Is that a wise choice for a name? Based on the quiz, wasnt the name given to those that punished people who roasted coffee beans? So you are against coffee, then?? ;D
Ill make a deal. Ill only punish those who dont do it properly.

Me got same questions wrong as Lucinda - but I mean, really, how much faith can you have in a quiz which describes instant coffee as regular coffee in the first place?

As an aside, can you point me to any posts that show me why the dual wall crema thing is crap, and why normal baskets will produce a better result (given good results from my Rancilio Rocky grinder)? Gotta convice the wife on this one. You know, "they made it like that for a reason, why does it need modified?" Gotta have the answers ready... I know all commercial machines dont have crema enhancers, that good crema is produced from good grind and tamping to match the machine etc...
Not a link, but a story: I did the Sunbeam coffee course that they were offering free with their machines earlier this year. At that course, one of the trainers said straight out that the crema enhancers were present on machines which were designed at a time that freshly roasted coffee was not readily available to all consumers.
The corollary being that with fresh coffee you dont need to enhance anything...

Did you happen to notice the machine they recommend if you get 9 or 10 out of 10?
Then have a look at the machine they recommend for 7 or 8 out of 10?
Same machine (the one I am waiting on - see other post).
So assuming I can scrap the dual wall thingy and use a normal basket, ya think that machine will be capable?

Actually this is probably not the best place to post this so I will copy the question to my other post to keep points relating to this machine in the one place.
Cheers.
Tas- please dont cross post...looks like attention seeking to us :P

I got 9 out of 10, but I gave the quiz 9 out of 10 too.
Question 2) Cupping doesnt mean comparing, it is the process of tasting coffee by removing brew bias
Also, according to the results, Breville has just released a single boiler PID machine with excellent temp stability, 10 Kilo of seamless chrome coating, its energy efficient, cleans itsself, is invisible to wifes and costs under $100....or did they really mean they had developed a machine just for me?
;D I agree, I was starting to think "By Jove, theyve got it" when they started talking about fresh beans etc. But then I was at the end given a link to a dual wall creama system which suggested it was a good thing - eh??
