Thanks Chris (2MCM). I got my Iberital Challenge today and I am very happy with it. I spent a little time tweaking the grind for the Faema but it is very consistent in the grind and delivers a nice spread into the PF.

Got some amazing (for me) shots from the Faema as a result.

Thanks for the great service - Im so pleased I even gave you a wrap up on Cafe Grendel, it is great to deal with friendly experts. I reckon I would have got equal service from any of our site sponsors from what I have experienced so far.

In celebration I broke my own roasting record in the Corretto - over 800 grams.

    Good on you Grendel,

Therell be tweaking galore at your place for a while now, what with that 800 gram roast youve just done ..... Which looks absolutely superb by the way 8-). From the little bit of experimenting Ive done with my setup, larger roasts really do perform a lot better than smaller ones. The biggest Ive done so far is just a paltry 600 grams ;D but the roast turned out way even compared to the usual 300 gram batches I do. Tasted better in the cup too

    Mal.

Nice looking Grinder there Grendel ;D

Just wondering - in your grinder quest did you consider the Compak K3 Touch at all (which what I am considering acquiring) ??

And a big congratulations on the ~800 gram roast there. That just might be a record in the Breville Country [smiley=kiss.gif] [smiley=evil.gif]

          Re: Thanks!

Ive done 700g in the Breville Big Loaf (Roasted, about 600g)....but the bowl size is stuggling to hold the heat (Need the heat to be more spread in the bowl) in so Ill be getting another HG to boast heating capability in the search for a roasted 1kg roast :-)

          Pics to come...

FYI... I originally used a Ryobi but it died after the 4th roast so I returned up, paid the difference for a GMC Platinum - much better although not as hot but more controllable in heat ranges.
