its been recommended on other threads if plumbing isnt an option
this might help if you are in sydney, but its easy to check the water actually coming out of your tap with strips you can get from bombora

Re: what to filter with
The baddies are anything that cause scale. You cant "filter" them as they are "in solution" ie they are not "particles".
The simplest things is to check with your local water business, explaining you want to keep scale out of your coffee machine/.

Re: what to filter with
First you need to find out if you actually have any undesirables. I did a test on the water out of my tap and we got zero ppm, do we filter or not, that is the question and there isnt just a one solution for all answer!

what to filter with
I have used a Brita jug with the filter in it for a couple of years when refilling my old Saeco and probably need to get something a bit better for my new machine that I hope to have in July so what should I get that doesnt have to be hooked up to my tap and filters all the undesirables out? What exactly do I need to be filtering out?Tags: None
