Re: Whats Wrong With Lavazza Coffee?

the difference between education and teaching?

    Education comes from within.

I used to think nespresso was good.

now my nespresso machine sits in the corner unused and unloved.

some things you just have to work out for yourself.

McDonalds is quite popular and a lot of people must "like" it.

how many of these people have eaten a meal prepared by a talented cook with a good recipe I have no idea.

Is McDonalds the finest of dining experiences possible?

Re: Whats Wrong With Lavazza Coffee?

Thanks all so much for your replies, and if anybody else has a comment I would be glad to hear it.

I am prepared for the machine upgrade path but hadnt really considered that there is a path of development just for the beans. I guess that makes sense when I think about it. I just hadnt thought about it.

I shall definitely take the advice offered and study forum comments and try beans from CS sponsors and look forward to enhanced enjoyment of my daily brew.

Good to hear Gp. It has often been said here that you can make a decent cup with a cheap plunger or pou over if you have good beans but the best espresso machine cannot turn stale crap beans into good coffee. Garbage in equals garbage out.

If you love fresh locally roasted coffee with great flavour and aroma......everything is wrong with it.

If you love stale old imported coffee with little flavour and stale aroma.......nothing is wrong with it. ;D

At the risk of being accused of Heresy depending on the local available options you can do a lot worse than Lavazza Gold even if it is preground.
          Order online.......its worth it!

Please dont selectively quote me. If you NEED a coffee and thats whats available then compared to Vittoria (as promoted by that noted actor :) and similar muck it is an improvement. Not everyone has a grinder and or the time to wait (lack of planning/knowledge) to order online and or roast there own.

There are times when us snobs need to see things from an entry point and not what is ideal.

Ive heard using pressurised portafilters, old preground coffee isnt as big an issue.

The pressurised portafilters can create faux crema from old preground coffee but they cant fix the taste.

As a noob in the coffee arena, I have been on Lavazza for a little bit which I found nice (major upgrade from instant) but have been having forte from bay beans the last week and a bit, no comparison!!! Will be looking to get some from the sponsors here to find my preferred fresh roasted beans

                              That'd probably do it.

Lavazza beans are ok in an emergency and always better than pod or instant coffee.
