  • Small Business Insurance - Home Roasting

    Hello All Concerned,

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post, will leave that up to Mods.

Im a business student working through a business plan at the moment that would have me roast from home, sell online and at the weekend market. No importing, no visits from clients or any other form of physical contact. I was wondering if anyone in a similar situation to mine could inform me as to who has insured you, for what coverage and what you are paying annually for this cover. Ive been quoted $515 per year for $5m public liability only! No coverage of machine or stock, this just seems a little steep to me.

    Kind Regards,

Of course you will have to read the fine print...

but these guys do a food products version for half that and twice the cover. Has anyone been harmed by a bad batch of coffee before? - not sure what you need for the on-line part.

        I used to keep bees.

there were similar issues with honey.

There are labeling issues with food.

Many councils require food businesses to be registered for public health reasons (at least in SA).

the on-line version looks like a bargain if it is legit.
