Re: Can you match this single shot extraction?...
Yikes! Too fast, too long and amazing well produced crema from high Robusta content.

Re: Can you match this single shot extraction?...
I am guessing it is an italian vid/italian coffee.
Therefore my assumption would be the use of robusta in the coffee.
It can produce amazing crema.

Re: Can you match this single shot extraction?...
My morning shot will be a single from LM basket with small tamper that fits into the smaller basket.
but never got that thick red brown crema since temperature stability during the shot is a big issue for gaggia....
PIDd silvia would not have 3[ch8451] drop !

Can you match this single shot extraction?...

Check out the wonderful single shot extraction, by this Italian Barista in this short tutorial video.

The relevant section is approximately from 1:20 to 1:50
I have a Mazzer Super Jolly, Rancilio Silvia, custom fit tamper, and a Behmor home roaster, and around 10 years experience.
And, although I generally make what I regard as very good to excellent espressos, I simply can not get anything like this full crema extraction from a single shot basket. (7.5g, apparently)
Im sure the fault is not my grind, freshness of beans, or tamping.
My question is simple, Can you make shots from a single shot basket like this with an automatic domestic machine?, such as the Rancilio Silvia in my case.
Any wisdom shared, or frustrations vented would be welcomedTags: None
