Rolling bench

Great ideas. I am about to embark on a rolling bench with hardwood top to regain some kitchen bench space. Will need to have water tank and waste under it as well. Keen to see any other rolling stations/benches that people have.

Re: Rolling bench
Ive since taken the wheels off my redgum bench, only because the height was over 1m high. with the wheels off it sits at 97cm...still a little high but I can live with it...on the other hand, Ive whipped up a work bench so that I can do my tamping and puck knocking. So no more rolling bench for me, but I can always put the wheels back I suppose
Here are the photos of the under bar workbench.

Re: Rolling bench
These are of particular interest as I have a small kitchen and there really is not any available space for a machine. I bought a trolley straight out of a local kitchenware store but have always been a bit nervous about the considerable weight of the Diadema on the top and the lightweight structure and wheels on the bottom. A collapsed wheel would spell disaster.
I am always interested in other Snobs solutions, particularly anything commercially available as I am not set up to make my own.

Re: Rolling bench
What a beautiful bench. Mum had a massive gum cut down years ago outside her house, and the man offered to cut her some bench tops out of it and she said no
Now I am older, to think what we may have had for free..

Saoye,
Very nice set up there. Beautiful Red Gum slab seems like a perfect size for your home cafe. Well done.

Re: Rolling bench
Heres my new rolling bench! ;D
I got it from a local church who wanted to clear out some space. Unique Red Gum Slab, cut and polished and thickly laquered and placed on top of a cast iron rolling chassy. It was hand Made by a person in their congregation many years ago, even has a little brass plaque to commemorate it.
Now my wife is happy to have her kitchen bench space back and Im more than happy to own this beautiful one of a kind bench. It is definitely more than worthy of my Giotto 8-)

Re: Rolling bench
All the parts are metal, no plastic here, and you can change it to suit your needs, also it all comes apart so you can break it down if you ever need the space

Re: Rolling bench
Hi all,
After purchasing my machine and grinder not so long ago, I too decided to build my own rolling coffee bench so that I can easily turn the bench around and admire the back side of the coffee machine and grinder. (Also, my wife wanted the lost bench space back.....)
The project is only half done, but I decided to post some pictures to give some ideas for those people who is thinking about building one.
Its made of solid treated timber and covered with 0.3mm aluminium sheets with glue and stainless steel nails.
(so far I nailed about 500 and few hundred more to go...)
I have not weighted this beast(or beauty?), but its so heavy I can not lift it by myself. The cast iron core wheels with 250kg load rating each should be good for 1 ton. Well, it was a bit of an overkill, but the red Polyeurethane on the wheel looked so sexy and I had to have it. (Love the grease nipples as well...)
I will be building a drawer and doors for storing the stuff this long weekend.
I also found the old leather belt in the garage, so I made a handle out of it.
Cheers

Re: Rolling bench
Looks like all the joints are some kind of plastic coupling system? Id be interested to know what, because although I can weld, I only have an oxy-a at the moment and its a pain in the arse to weld tube with it.
