many time when searching google I get results and it sends me to CS

then what? I try the same search on CS and nothing?

Google still has the old CS site indexed and the old links it finds don't work and as you now know it will default to the new home page.
What happens if you use the Advanced Search function?

Make sure you tick a 'Search Types' option (start with 'All Types') and enter the keyword(s) you are searching for then Search Now.

        What are you searching for?

Yeah its pretty annoying...and heaven forbid you ask a question without searching! I have just been looking at the cached copys of old site in chrome.

Off topic but i never got my personal messages back either?

lots of searches about information for different machines ect.

have just what I want, but it takes me to the home page and just leaves me there

              As Flynn has already answered...

Links to the old forum all broke when the new forum went live. Instead of getting a generic "404 Not found error" anything not found redirects to the front page of the forum.

The Google index is wrong, it will get rebuilt over time but we don't have a say in the progress of that.
Talk to Google and let me know what they say

Telling us "it doesnt work" is good but if you tell us exactly what you are searching for we might be able to help with either better search terms or methodology.
