  • Is this cool or what!

Just wanted to say how much fun and enjoyment i have been having since the purchase of my espresso machine. I still cant believe how good "fresh roasted, fresh ground coffee" can taste when done right. It truly has made my coffee drinking experience an absolute joy. Although im sure all you coffee snobs already know this!

    cheers,
    mick.

Couldnt have put it better mitto68.

I keep telling myself the same mantra over and over again. Its so simple but so true.
Fresh roast + fresh ground is almost nirvana. Once you brew it right.... shazam!!! Its like the planets are all aligned or something...  ;D

There you go. I suspect that for many of us, its not just having a good, tasty brew in the cup that is enjoyable, but the process of achieving it.

And that goes to every step of the way, the technique and machinery used in the process.

Problem is, once you perfect your home technique, its very hard to drink anyone elses brew (3 or 4 exceptional joints in Melbourne not withstanding...)

Does that make me a snob, or just conceited?

I know what you mean, although im no expert i find myself taking a great deal of interest in someone else making me a coffee now and comparing taste. What have i done!!!! Oh well, better go make myself another brew.
                  cheers,

I have noticed that I have become really fussy since I started roasting my own.

Maybe it is because I roast the beans to exactly what I want and I dont have to rely on another persons taste and blending.

well were all snobs here! (not slobs)

heh. i like to look at it as helping me to appreciate a good barista or cafes coffee - perfection at each step of the way
