Im not sure where there 14 new members in a single day figure came from as according to the list of members we had 10 join yesterday, but the day before that only showed 1 new member joining.
Java "Too much time on his hands" phile
The 14members that joined in one day was on the 06.01.07
Unfortunately youre not the only one with too much time on their hands Java!
I made a prediction back on Jul 10th 2006 that 2000 members would be occur two days ago, based upon the rate of joining back then. Ill probably only be out by a month and a bit
As you can see on the attached pic graphing out the number of members over time yields a very smooth curve with a nice constantly increasing slope. A nice expoential growth curve. Which is exactly what you would expect in a situation such as this where membership is driven to a large extent by referrals from existing members. As the membership base grows the number of referrals also increases resulting in an ever increasing number of new members joining every day.

The number of new members joining every day can fluxuate quite a bit but in the end it averages out quite nicely.
