Im still working on my mum, but being a doting mother myself, I just had to share this picture of my 22 month old snob-in-training... She likes to finish off espressi and macchiati! I gave her a taste one day, with the intention that it would stop her bugging me for my coffee- figured shed hate the taste. Well, it certainly backfired, she loves it!

So true Scootgal! Is enjoyable from a customers point of view when a barista gets to know you and puts in that extra effort. My regular cafe knows what I am after and my wife as well. It is weird when there are knew wait staff there who dont know you. But the extra effort makes me tell everyone I know about the cafe and encourage people to go there.

LOL! My mother is a coffee snob too! Though she has only just today got onto the marvel that is the Intarweb!!

My lasting memory of my mums snobbery will be when she used to run a mask shop in Newtown in Sydney. I was visiting and she shut the shop for a break. We walked up to her then fave cafe haunt and sat down. Not two seconds later, the barista brought her a coffee!! I was absolutely floored at this service! I asked her how the guy knew what she wanted and she confessed to frequenting the shop enough to get that kind of response! That was in my days of pre barista.

Now, being in that position, I get my own kick out of taking over a drink to a regular and saying (like I did today) "I know you dont like the chocolate on the top." The customer nodded with a big smile, pleased that I had remembered! Thats what its all about folks! IMO...

    Ahhh.... gotcha...

I think the starter pack includes pack and post by default..... because it can be ordered any time.

So its probably on the way to your mothers home

My family just think I am crazy. Although I am sure I could convert my father in law, even if he has access to a very good roaster in Blenheim NZ.

Snobbery must run in the family! But she should be congratulated for doing it.

Probably more bad as in wicked.

Is that "bad" as in "good"?
