Nope, no joy either (was there for marathon).

Have however been mildly surprised to find some half decent coffee on recent stays in Williamsburg.

Perhaps the party boys didn't just ditch tea, but coffee as well.

Excellent espresso from Barrington Coffee Roasters.

...and only a few hundred meters from the convention centre. Put it on your must visit list next time in Boston!

From a country that founded the culinary excellence that gave the world MacDonalds. :-)

I would imagine that most retail strips in Australia, the coffee from the various shops can vary from awful to better than average.

ahh, .. i guess Andy has a better nose for finding the good places !
Most strange i thought,.. was the cafe in the foyer of the Expo, serving espresso from an auto !
An enterprising equipment supplier might have substituted a nice impressive multi-group m/c to get a little extra market exposure during the Expo.

Whilst there was plenty of excellent drip "American" coffee, I was surprised to find few true espresso outlets ( lots of full auto commercial m/c's) and even a very traditional Italian cafe that didnt serve any coffee at all !
Of the few "real" espresso outlets , none were exceptional and one can certainly lay claim to the very worst (undrinkable !) cup i have ever experienced !
Im sure with more time and a little local guidance , the true Boston coffee culture would be revealed, but its a long time since i visited a city that hid its good coffee so effectively.
Not complaining really though, Boston is a wonderful historic city with very friendly people and a relaxed attitude ..
. i shall return, better equipped to find those espresso cafe's !

    started a topic Boston

    Boston

Our hearts and thought go out to those affected by the tragic bombing in Boston.
Many of our friends were there at the 25th anniversary of SCAA, including our own Javafile and Andy.
When others are affected in this way, no matter where in the world,
it shows us how our own challenges can often fade in comparison.
