  • Diary of a Black Artist

Well Ive just come up from "the back" and for the first time in a long time, did a quick calculation on the number of kilos I personally roasted today....

    994 kilos.

Almost felt ike starting it up again and putting through another 6 just to make it an even ton!

Thats with no help from anyone else, my offsider is on hs annual vacation and while hes away it makes for longgggg days beside the roaster.

Nevertheless, feeling very satisfied and going home to a nice hot shower, home cooked meal, and a nice bottle of red! Wont be wanting a coffee tonight.

Oh, its only a little fella. We have to work for a living around here hehe. And yours?

One of my up and coming understudies used to work a 240 kilo jobbie for a large company but unlike ours, it was well automated...so while he has a lot of experience running the machine and turning out really big kilos, he needs work in the black arts...programming machines to do stuff is not the same as having to use your senses and know how to get the result.

This helps to derive a certain quiet satisfaction!

Hehehe ... Petes does 60kg at a time. No idea how big that is in commercial terms. Its a traditional drum roaster, but made to Petes specifications, so he certainly seems to get the same sort of satisfaction out of it that you do.

        Cheers,
        Luca

I would love to do something like that, how satisfying (if not tiring) it must be to get a great end result.
