For the first time the post failed me and my coffee order from Andy didn't arrive before the weekend.
(picture a forlorn Rocky standing hopefully at the front door every time a van comes up the street)
I had just enough left of the Harrar Longberry to make two coffees for Son & self on Saturday but come Sunday morning....
A scrounge of the downstairs fridge uncovered an almost full pack of Zaraffas ground for dripolator, left behind by my Daughter about 2 months ago.
Checked the grind - very coarse - so into the grinder for a re-work.
The pour looked a bit frightening with the first trickle very black but quickly lightening, prompting a decision to do the coffees as ristretto.
End result, a Latte, a Piccolo Latte, and a Macchiato. All surprisingly drinkable although without the depth and length that we have become used to with Andy's beans.
Anybody else had to drop their standards in an emergency?
