  • Flojet in bottle dispensing system

Flojet have created a solution for those who want to safely run plumbed machine from a bulk container.

I'd see this as useful for those who restore something which needs to be plumbed or those who desire a lever machine like an Alex Leva

Looks good and we have ordered one to test. They're around $230.

    Thoughts guys?

I have one of those diaphragm pumps usually used for caravan booster pump, it works fine to boost pressure but tends to generate pulsation during espresso extraction, i am interested to find out if the flojet uses a rotary set up to boost pressure without the pressure pulse please let us know when you do a wet run

I have an older model of the flojet which I used for about 2 1/2 years to run my La Scala Carmen 1 group machine whilst living in the UK and initially when I moved back to Australia. The only issue was on changing over the bottle, with a little air getting into the pump. I had to disconnect the line from the machine and run through a little water to get out any airlock. In the end I simply cut a hole in the top of the bottle the pump was in and refilled through the hole so the bottle never emptied.

Looks a bit like a peristaltic pump, externally.

Would this help for a switchable tank/plumbed machine, or is it only for bulk external tanks?

We have used ours with pump free levers and pump machines. So far, it's really impressive.

Yeah, that was my thought too. That being the case it should provide consistent pressure. (There's a reason they're used for pumping stuff like blood )
