  • Suggestions for an app for recording coffee sales?

    Hi All
I have a little roaster at home, and sell a bit of coffee to friends. It is about 2kg a week, but growing.
Just wondering if anyone has suggestions for a way of recording sales.
I have a android phone and have had a look at a few apps, but not sure if there is a good one or not.
I have tried doing a word doc or a excel sheet that i have in dropbox, but it is a bit clumsy.
This is what i have been doing.
The best option would be a app that works well for coffee.
I only do cash up front, so don't need to do anything like invoices etc.
    Any ideas?
    thanks

A ledger, pot of ink and a goose feather. ;-D

I'm not a PC user but Excel is supposed to be the bees knees of spread sheets, you could format your own table??

Why not just run a cash book Beenz Bookkeeping Forms and Bookkeeping Templates these forms are printable, the
      Cashbook Spreadsheet Template
would do the job very well.

Great minds Chokkidog, yep Excel would do the job, in this case though it would be like using a sledge hammer to crack a walnut.

My first thought was pen and paper.

Spot on, Yelta...... 2kgs / week isn't a lot to keep track of, don't forget to sharpen the goose feather, Beenz !! ;-D

If you want to go hi-tech, there are plenty of templates with built in formulae to do the maths for you .......

              Thanks for those suggestions.
I am looking to use my phone as i sell while at different places and the pen and paper are not always with me.
I always have my phone so looking to use that.

the apps listed are more making a budget etc. Looking for more - need customer/sale etc prob with inventory too.

The Note 3 has a stylus, right? Why not scribble details down on quicknote or whatever that app is called, and update whatever records you need to keep when you get home? FWIW, a dedicated inventory management system seems a touch over the top at 2kgs a week, but you obviously have a reason for wanting one. Bear in mind that more you formalise things the more chance someone might suggest you pay GST and tax on the whole shebang.

                    Yep it does.
I guess i like to set things up so that it makes ongoing record keeping easier.
There are a couple of apps that i have looked at that seem ok, probably more complicated than i want though.
i don't do anything with pen and paper anymore - that's too old skool for me!
i can do almost everything with my phone - control computer, tv, etc. Should be something easy to record sales to friends.
It is a very small amount, and probably overkill, i just like to do things simple and once!

Yes, most of them are but if you read through the list you would find this, from 'Frugallyminded':

'Documents Free is a handy tool for those who get their inspiration on the run. It’s free to download.
You can…. and make an excel spreadsheet wherever you happen to be. This is the chance to make a quick document, write-up or sales analysis …'

and this link provided above is mostly business oriented:

                      https://www.google.com.au/search?cli...GpPKKN8Qevi4F4

Can I also suggest that you name the apps you have looked at? It would help anyone who is taking the time to help you.

                      Cheers :-D

i missed that one. I only looked at the other one - thanks.
the 2 apps that look ok so far are eorder and sales on the move.
Both are free, but i think they need to be bought after a month.
                        thanks again

Definately use an App called 'quick sale'

I run my whole coffee bar with it on an iPad. It's super cheap, does inventory and idiot proof. You can send reports to yourself and look up sales dates on the go.

                          I think it's like $6 one off.

I have the better version which was $11
