  • Thundergod Estate Coffee

I returned a little while ago from picking up two coffee plants.
Heres a picture of a brother/sister or cousin:

My two, Bill and Ben, are spending the night indoors and tomorrow morning will be planted in their new home in my garden bed.

It will be nice to eventually not only boast that I have roasted the coffee that my guests are praising, but that I have also grown it.

Thundergod Estate coffee beans will me more exclusive than the famous Kopi Luwak and will be priced accordingly. ;D

Hey TG - they look beautiful and very happy - Congrats!

Did you happen to get these from Daleys fruit?

Hey TG, if you put them in raised beds, with a bit of pumice splashed around, you can say they are SHG in volcanic soil!! :P

        Thanks Flo.
I already had thought about raised beds because I thought the extra altitude would help.
Ill go look for that pumice in the bathroom now.

Dennis, no not Daleys. I did find them on the web a few days back but I found someone in Sydney and convinced him to let me pick them up.
I didnt like the idea of posting them bare rooted if I could save them the trauma.

They have been grown in full sun so should be quite hardy.
Tomorrow theyll go into the ground in one of the sunniest spots in my garden.
        They should love it.

Id love to grow my own beans, but somehow I dont think theyd do too well here.

                        Re: Thundergod Estate Coffee

                        PMs sent.
Do remind the guy to join us here at Coffee Snobs.
He was a nice young bloke.

He told me he tried roasting some beans once that hed grown but they were a disaster. He put them under the griller.

I gave him a quick rundown on poppers and BMs and he was intrigued.

Then he raised the difficulty hed had locating green beans, so naturally I pointed him in this direction.

Lucky bugger is in walking distance of Campos.

I hope he joins us soon.

hmmm, he has 3 plants available but in teeny pots. The daleys fruit guys sell them for about 75c more in 140mm pots...maybe we could get a bulk purchase going with a central pick up point?
