You certainly did Chris, my review pretty much says it all.

Have done some research on availability and price, sadly its a case of champagne tastes with a beer pocket, at approx $30 kg green they are out of my price range, perhaps I will order a couple of kg and roast a small batch now and again as a treat.

    Could well be Barry.

    To get back on topic.

Made myself another Lungo a while ago, once again very very nice, lovely syrupy mouthfeel, took my time drinking/tasting/savoring it, I think the best way I can describe it is akin to drinking a liqueur Muscat, chocolatey overtones with a little acidity, would have to say the nicest SO I have ever had.

Just to qualify my version of a Lungo, have been estimating the extraction to be approx 100ml through 18 grams of ground coffee in 30 seconds, today I measured what I'm getting in the cup, bit of a surprise here, more like 70ml including crema, much tighter than a Lungo and a little longer than an espresso, regardless a drink I enjoy.

Next up will pull a couple of espresso's, must say I'm thoroughly enjoying this experience.

Switched the machine on again this morning in the hope the problem had resolved its self over night, no such luck, bugger.

Unplugged it and moved it to a table where I laid it on its back (makes accessing the cover screws easy) removed the cover, everything looked fine and I must say for a five year old machine very clean and tidy, stood it on its feet, replaced the water tank and couple litres of water, plugged it in and turned the power on, bingo, after heating up it pumped water through the GH exactly as it should.

So, replaced the cover, tidied up, and for the time being I'm in business again.

What did I do to fix it? guess I could make up some cock and bull story about cleaning out the wigwam just above the gooses bridle, sadly, the truth is I have no idea like all intermittent faults I'm sure it will recur.

Perhaps simply moving it and laying it on its back dislodged a bit of crap in the system and got things moving again, had a bit of a chat with Chris this morning and he feels pretty much like I do, would prefer to see a component fail completely than this hide and seek rubbish, at least a failed part can be repaired/replaced with some confidence that the fault has been rectified.

    So that's where we are.

After hijacking my own thread, normal programming will, hopefully continue.

Bummer. Sorry to hear that. Hope it's a simple fix.
Better pull out the Aeropress before that Yemen goes stale!

Thanks Chris, no evidence of boiler overfill.

Had enough for today, will look into it in the am.

G'day Yelta- Yes- got it. Thanks...

Any evidence of a boiler overfill? If so, I reckon pull the solenoid down and see how you go.

    Cheers

    Chris

Are you getting flow to the group? Pump sound like it's stalling? Another possibility on SA water might be a grotty solenoid- probably coupled with boiler overfill if the pump sounds to be operating.

I'm glad to hear that you may have at least approached some of what great Yemen can offer.

    Ho hum....

    Evening Chris,

No flow to the group, pump running flat out, not stalling and rattling like a spoon in a jam tin.

Steam is good as is hot water.

It all happened after I locked the PF into the GH and lifted the lever, the pump went hyper and not a drop of water made it through the puck.

I sent you a PM a while ago have you picked it up yet?
