  • Farm to cup book or website?

    Hey Guys,

This is going to be a little vague but maybe someone can help.

I'm wondering if there is a book or website anyone can recommend that goes through the processes in detail from what it takes for the farmer to grow, process, and sell the beans, to what we get in our cups.
I'm keen to know about the different ways of processing and maybe even the different varietals of coffee that are around the world.

    Cheers

If you are interested in these stories googe 'The Perfect Daily Grind'. its a blog/website that my partner and i run. There isn't much on there at the moment but there will be ALOT coming in the next few weeks as my website partner spent many months in Central America visiting countless farms all over and the website will maintain a focus on exactly that topic as well as many other things related to coffee.

I received a relatively new publication called 'The World Atlas of Coffee' as a gift recently. Sounds like that might be what you're after. I haven't had time to read much of it yet but it does look quite nice. The first half is dedicated to general coffee knowledge, harvesting, processing, roasting, brewing etc. and, the second half details all the various coffee growing regions. There's another one called 'The Art and Craft of Coffee' that may also be worth looking at, but possibly a bit more simple in it's approach.

The op is in Melbourne. I know that readings in Lyon st had the world atlas of coffee. They also have a couple of other books that might suit, but it was a couple of months ago and I can't remember much about the others. That world atlas of coffee looks really good though.
