Some of you may have seen the Buzzfeed article that's doing the rounds on the net. It's a bit of a stupid article really, just poking fun at hipster morons. One thing that did tickle my fancy was the photo below that someone had posted on Facebook with the caption 'Calm down, Surrey Hills'. Classic.

You mean Surry Hills in Sydney or Surrey Hills in Melbourne. Whilst according to my wife there are 11 cafes in the shopping strip in Surrey Hills, this is middle suburbia not trend city.

I'm sure they're talking about Surry Hills even though I'm pretty sure the post on FB had an errant 'e' in Surry too. (I've been away too long and didn't spot the error).

But Andrew has a sign in The Maling Room about not serving "hot" milk drinks that would set off that crowd too

In my opinion, the sugar one above crosses the line: judgemental language.

I work in surry hills. Have to admit it's a fine line between good coffee and pretentiousness. A lot of the new wave coffee is hopeless in milk and yet they serve it as if it's liquid gold.

Ha ha, not exclusive of Surry Hills...work in Liverpool and some of the places are close to rude in their pretense
I make coffee in my office for a small group of 7-10 every day. Most take no sugar, a couple just one, one of them 3 ... oh my ...
