Wonder if walking with the lid to the side would help?

I think the flexibility of the cup base is also a factor - I tend to walk with the lid off, and you still get a lot of sloshing; most notably when movement of your arm is impeded (say wearing a thick jacket or carrying something else). Presumably gait related.
