    Well,

Not being able to help myself when it comes to trying new blends I have discovered a very, very nice match up for the Zimbabwe roast you did Grendel. At this stage its just a simple 50/50 blend with the Bali Ganung Batur with the Bali beans roasted just to the edge of 2nd Crack in my Corretto. It really does make for a very balanced, complex and smooth coffee blend with lots of body, some blackcurrant notes and a smooth lingering caramello finish, not cloying though. Will do a bit of refining as time goes on but this is definitely worth pursuing,

    Mal.

Hey Grendel, you did a good job mate.

The beans were great and roasted to perfection. Enjoyed them over the weekend just gone.

Shipping all those anonymous black bags in my car on the way home I was actually hoping the police would pull me over. I knew that smell would taunt them the rest of the night. . .

Wow! Looks like you had a great day there Grendel in amongst all that great equipment and people who know how to use it.... A terrific experience, eh and an altogether very successful venture. Cant wait to try my beans when they arrive, will hold my next roast over for a few more days .

All up it should raise about $1800 and this is 6 times my initial goal - but a much more useful amount. It could never have grown to this point without the help of Andy and the CS mods and the generous donations of beans from ym fellow coffeesnobs. MatthewG in particular provided a very generous gift of beans (and the $50 postage to ship them) which really boosted the total amount - our roaster Kamran also donated 25kg of top quality beans to help us meet the avalanche of orders - it was amazing all round so thank you all for your help.

I am particularly grateful to CSers Tanghy and Chris002200 who arrived to help pack the beans and cut an 8 hour job to a 2 hour job.

This was half of the total boxes of coffee - the car, the house, my clothes, our children - all a loverly caramel coffee aroma!
