  • Coffee machine servicing: Not happy Jan!!

Hi all, just want to vent. Just got my Giotto back from a service, which after some repair work cost me a $$$$. To my disgust , there was old coffee grounds on the shower screen, so I decided to take it out. So surprise surprise , the group head is still filthy!!! Now I'm filthy! Should I expect this to be cleaned in a service?

    Hi Kike....

Might be worth having a read over our service and maintenance guide as there is no reason why anything should be filthy

It does sound like some things that should have been done may have been missed/skipped. FWIW, this is what we do:

    Routine service includes:
    • Disassembly, inspection and lubrication of group, wands and steam and hot water valves. Replacement of wear components as required
    • Descale (if required)
    • Electrical safety and pressure checks. Replacement of pressure and/or electrical components as required
    • Repairs as required
    • Cleaning of your machine

      Hey Chris,

I originally bought the machine from yourself. As I'm in S.E suburbs of Melbourne it's a bit of a drive to get to your place. In saying that, I think I'd rather do that from now on, the wait to this service was around 3 1/2 weeks , which was just taking the p#%s.

        A couple of points Kike.

Did you complain to the people who carried out the service.

"the group head is still filthy" with minimal home TLC the group head should never reach the stage of being filthy, remember every coffee you make and consume comes in contact with the accumulated filth.

Remember the old saying, cleanliness is next to godliness, it also has quite an affect on the quality of coffee we produce.

          Hi Yelta,

I regurlarly do clean my machine, I was away for work this time around so didn't get a chance to clean it before I dropped it off. I just literally got it out of the box last night after getting back from work, so I will be contacting them.
