  • recommendations in Brisbane (or Greater Brisbane) for freshly roasted coffee beans?

Hey guys and gals, just looking for a recommendation, somewhere i can drive to and try some onsite (so not interested in online), which can be a site sponsor or not. I spent over a decade going to Di Bella's and recently went to a small roaster down in underwood, so looking to try something else. My father found a guy at the farmers market near by called "fine fellows", which produced a fine drop, but i don't really go to the markets.

The place i have been going to, just implemented a rule that coffee must be two weeks or older and i fear the last few batches have been old beans as the little lever that could, doesn't play as nicely as i did a couple of months ago.

I tend to buy 500 grams max as i go through it in two weeks so like to keep it as fresh as possible.

sooooo, any snobs out there feeling like sharing their place?

The Coffee Roaster (that's their name) on the corner of Anthony St. in West End, they have an Air Roaster in the shop front. Last time I dropped in they were not very busy and they did a demo run for me. When I walked out, it was with a bag of beans that were still slightly warm from the roaster. Quite good coffee in the shop and in the bag.

I like Elixir in Stafford. They roast their own beans, have a good selection available (including rotating regional 'feature' beans and fair trade options if that's your thing), and their breakfasts are really good.

If you fancy a drive out to their roastery in Clontarf then Neli Coffee is worth the drive. Open Tue - Fri only.

I've recommended it before and I'll do it again, Dramanti at Wynnum. They do single origin and blends and just about everytime you can pretty much get freshly roasted beans.

They also have a cafe on Ann St in the city called Pronto that sells beans. You might even meet the owner/roaster (Dragan).
