Hi Guys,
I've tried searching, but is there a good thread anywhere here on the basics of how to actually make a good espresso?
I've been a supermarket coffee user with my Saeco VV, but have a renewed vigour with trying to make a better coffee. Am going to start using freshly roasted beans, get a good grinder, depressurise my portafilter, etc.
It seems there is an art with the fineness of the grind, the amount of coffee you place in your portafilter, the tamping pressure, extraction times, etc. I'm new to all of this.
Could someone either point me to a good resource or share their wisdom with the basic guidelines that one should follow when attempting to make a good espresso?
Thank you.
Paul
