  • [BRIS] Two group coffee machine needed to borrow for charity event!

Hey everyone hope you are well and able to assist another coffee lover.
I have been asked to provide café service for an event at Logan on the 30th - 31st October however my coffee machine recently decided to cark it. This is a charity event so I am not getting paid for the event instead, all profit from sales are being donated back to the charity. The coffee machine would need to have own water and waste tanks as no mains water is available. I can pick up from Sunshine / Gold Coast, Ipswich or Brisbane locations.

      Hello Nathan,

With respect, you are looking for a commercial enterprise which is effectively prepared to donate their coffee cart to an unknown entity for a weekend event (when said entity should be using their coffee cart to generate income).

Regardless of the offer of donation of profits back to the event, you may find that most operations are not inclined to let other people who may not care at all about their expensive equipment play for free.

That, and the fact that you have asked on a weekend....

Good luck, but I suspect you need to shell out for replacement or repair of clapped out.

You were gonna do this gig with a BES900? If you were expecting low volumes, probs don't need a commercial two group.. But if you really do need a two group, if you're lucky a local roaster might have a connection for you.

You could get yourself a prosumer machine and enjoy using the event as a chance to learn your way around it.

How are you with a plunger/ batch brewer?

I know its not the same, but if you make it good, it'll be good.

And, although its "not the same", it looks like it would be prudent to have a plan B at this stage.

Not trying to be a smart ass Nathan, however given your lack of equipment and commercial contacts I would suspect cancellation or offering the opportunity to a more suitably connected person may well be your best course of action.

Yeah I agree however as it is a community non for profit organisation I thought I would do them a favour.

PM sent. Have an option that is not to requested specs but offered anyway.

Thanks everyone we end up finding an unused coffee & BBQ trailer at last minute. We made a considerable donation for the charity and had heaps of fun doing it. I am considering purchasing the trailer.
