I have never been happy at the way the low water alarm feature on the Duetto just cuts off power to the machine, usually mid-shot. So I have installed a separate "almost low water alarm" to remind me when to fill up.

It's about as simple as you can get, a battery, a buzzer and a reed switch. The reed switch is stuck to the water tank near the floating magnet just above the level where the factory alarm is triggered and the rest of the bits are under the tank.
