Hi. Recently, I had a chance to visit Melbourne and went to take a look at lever machines in action at The Journal in the city and Espresso Station in Malvern - pulling those levers all day seemed like a good workout! The restored Victoria Arduino machine at Espresso Station looked amazing with see-through panels. Their suitcase speakers were very handsome as well. Antony at Casa Espresso kindly showed me his machines and made me a few nice lever shots too. Thank you all for your hints and suggestions!!

Thanks shortblackman. Dukes is my favourite so I'm happy to kill two birds with one stone. I can browse through some Japanese books at the City Library also (I'm from Japan). When planning my next trip, I will contact Talk Coffee to see if I can come for a look and taste... I'll look for the one in Richmond too.

******_Coffee, you're so kind. I watched your video and read some of your web pages - good stuff. I would love to come and see you in action! I will contact you when the time comes :-)

Place in Northcote is called Talk Coffee. Also has gear for sale.
Journal still has a lever. (But so close to Dukes where the coffee is much better.)
Also. Richmond opposite 50 acres on Bridge rd . A 3 or 4 group Bosco. (Can't vouch for coffee though.)

Thanks! I will check out Journal when I go to Dukes. What's the cafe's name in Northcote?

Cafes with lever machines in Melbourne?

Hi – this is my first post...

I have been enjoying this forum for a while now, just quietly reading. So thanks all for fun and informative posts.

Now I am hoping you could help me. I live about 500 km from Melbourne, but love visiting cafes (especially Dukes) when in town. Next time, I would love to try cafes that use lever machines. Could anyone recommend me ones in CBD or inner suburbs, please??
Working...
