Riiiight, so that’s why there’s an avocado on BeanBay!

I think there needs to be a link to this thread to explain the joke [emoji848]

Avo peels take ages to break down, even in a worm farm. The period beginning in the late 2010s will probably be identified by future archaeologists as a distinct epoch, which they will term the avoocene. 🤔

I guess a sub forum called AvoSnobs will be imminent.

I tried a brew tonight and was duly impressed.

I used a medium ripe Avo (around AS7) under dosed shell (8g SRA - Shell Residual Avo) using a precision scoop for prep (I found the VST scoop too finicky) with a light polish on the inside of the shell with the back of the scoop to create a uniform surface and aid the even ATCFT (Avo To Coffee Flavour Transfer).

I then pulled a double ristretto into the shell with a lower brew temp of 88 degrees so as to not burn the avo oils.

Quite nice. Will try next time with diced boiled egg added.

    Cheers

Best to buy them green and home-ripen. It's not difficult and can become addictive!

I'm thinking we need a variation on the CS roast depth card for avo ripeness... 🤔

    Meet the avolatte.

Av gas?! This is beginning to sound more and more like rocket science to me. [emoji573]

If only we could harness this gas for good and not ill.

More importantly, to blend (garlic, lime, spice, salt) pre- or post-press? 🤔

Want to give this a go but don't want to waste those precious avo cups!

Crucial to double-cup and preheat though, that's where a lot of people get it wrong. 🤔
