  • Cups cups cups!

    Hi Snobs,

There are a few cup threads already, but nothing lately.
The bees knees is pretty much ACF which aren't produced anymore or there is the Nuova Point which are still made in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours. The NP cups don't seem to have that classic tulip shape (at least not in the colour I like).

I have also seen thick porcelain cups by segafredo which have a lovely shape.

What do you have and what would you recommend in terms of thick walled, tulip and porcelain?

These guys seem interesting not sure if they are any good, I was going to order some to see what they are like: acfcups.com.au Cup and Company.

I have had the acf cups for a long time and they are great. I also have some lovely small flat white cups by inker which are really nice. A local cafe was selling them and at the time I could not find anywhere else as they seemed to be wholesale only. Not sure if that is still the same.

I've got ACF and Incasa cups. The ACF cups are definitely brilliant. You could also look at d'Ancap or Acme cups.

I bought a set of these from Antony at Casa Espresso after seeing them on the shelf there. I have a couple of set of ACF cups which are good but I have to admit these ones i got recently are what i would suggest. Yes only white and Ivory in colour but good to drink from, durable and also light. Below is the link.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I will have to do some further investigation and make the difficult decision.

Bought me a couple of Bodum thermal glass double walled cups from Myer ( on special of course ) and they certainly add to the snob's experience. Watching the crema develop in the cup is a sight to see.

Probably the number 1 reason I like glass cups over cermaic/porcelain!

I did go and order the ones from segafredo - which turns out to be incasa cups made in China. they don't quite have that old world charm to them like Nuova Point or ACF but they are a good size for my collection - 155ml i think. I have 220ml latte glasses, 90ml machiatto glasses and the 155 are good middle ground for a stronger milk drink that isn't quite either

Also they are bright orange which matches my Motta milk jugs.

I'm reasonably happy with these Cup Co cups, the first batch i got had poor quality finishes around the handles, but they sent me a whole new set straight away(great customer service). I would say they are good for people looking for a fairly reasonably priced cup, but are nothing like the quality of the acf cups made in Italy(brown ones in the pics).

They look like the ones on acfcups.com.au. From the sounds of it from the website ACF and Cup and Co are partnered now. They certainly look similar. I might order some of those myself, they are just what I am looking for.

They aren't as good as the Italian acf cups like the brown ones in the picture. This is the kind of thing you'll see, small imperfections, but nice shapes.
