  • I've asked this before but...

    Hi all,
I have a decent setup I guess... Electric Mazza Mini, VBM Domo, Pullman Tamper etc + GeLonghie Nespresso unit, Breville Drip and a couple of stove top percolators. Basically, after 8 years of f***ing with maintenance and grinding and weights of shots etc, I want to just press a button and voila!
BUT, I need to make decent flat whites regularly or my wife will leave home. Hmmm, not such a bad idea :-)
Is there any Auto Espresso machine around these days that makes a decent 'hot' cup of flat white?
Hope some kind soul can help.
    Cheers

Budget? Apparently there are a couple of fully auto commercial machines that can do it if set up correctly ($20-30k+). Other than that the Breville Oracle is the best compromise on automation and quality of coffee though probably won't last more than a few years.

      Thank you very much level3ninja, I reckon you'll soon be a level 4 or 5 :-)
I've had a good look at this machine since you posted and it does look to fit the bill. Why do you believe it won't last?

Well just look up the threads focusing on the Appliance based brands ....and there's not just 4posts there ...
not even a hundred posts but Hundreds of Pages of posts...
So you don't need to wade through 200+pages, just glance here and there.
Its a repetitive and common theme.

Well what I do know is if I want to be homeless, dateless and helpless all I neeed to do is go geta plastic super auto
and start producing weak tasteless cold (<55deg) flatie whities or a bucket eˋchino using supermarket beans and yep
Ill be there in I reckon in 2weeks max!

Well, I dived in to the Breville Oracle Touch on Thursday. I'm still tweaking it but I'm sure I'll get a nice coffee in no time. About the only thing you don't have control over is the dose amount. Everything else can me set to suit and I reckon I can go from start to finished flat white in way under 10 minutes with little to no cleanup. Time will tell.

I heard what level3ninja said about the unit lasting so I took another 4 years warranty just in case. It cost $400 but if it means I get 6 years out of it I'll be happy.
