Yes the same 3M PLV (I got the kit from Bombora Water).
Water pressure is really good - when the filter tap is on it's pretty much full flow.
I had an identical setup at my old place and it only got half the flow rate. But funnily enough I never had any issues with the filter not getting any flow.
Maybe the higher the pressure the more likely the PLV is to "stick"? That or it means I need to install a higher rater PLV, e.g. the 3m comes in 350 and 650kpa versions (https://www.clarencewaterfilters.com...0-and-650-kpa/)
I'll email Bombora and see if they have any ideas...

Do you have the pressure limiter valve (PLV) installed? I think my issue was the valve (a little metal disc that stops the water backflowing) sticking. Whether that was due to mains not having enough pressure or not I'm not sure.Originally posted by cyclonite View PostHave basically the exact same setup and get very similar behaviour!
It'll work fine unless I leave it overnight, come back in the morning and it takes a good minute to get filtered water flowing again.
Similarly, system is brand new and has been doing this since day 1.
Did you ever find out which component was causing this pressure issue?
I've yet to try the filter without the PLV. But if your mains pressure isn't too high I'd look I to trying without it and seeing if that resolves the issue.

When I first got the filter 2 years ago I tested the water and found it to be quite soft (Newcastle NSW) hence why it's was set to 70%.Originally posted by coffee_mum View PostMy bypass is set at 3, which is what Bombora suggested for my water quality (very good). The flow is slower than the tap, but reasonable considering the tubing size.
I would suggest getting some test strips and testing your water at a lower bypass %, (1 = 10%, 10 = 100%) then use it at the lowest bypass that gives good filtration, which should improve flow rate, provided you can reduce it from 7. You could also try it to see if it improves before testing for water quality.
I did try changing the setting to see if it fix the problem, but it did not. The water pressure is fine when it 'kicks' back in... It's just I have to wait 60secs or longer for it to come back on....
I'm starting to think I'm just going to have to buy another filter head.. does anyone know what the warranty period on these are?

Brita C150 Water Filter issues
Just wondering if anyone has had any issues (no pressure or inconsistent pressure) with there Brita C150 filters.
Currently, when I turn the tap on I get regular pressure for about 3 seconds, then nothing for about 60secs before it 'kicks' back in.
I recall having this issue with the last filter which is why I left it so long before replacing.
The setup I have is Mains > 3m 350PLV > BRITA filter head (0-70, set to 70 bypass) > C150 > faucet.
From what I can tell nothing wrong with mains pressure or pressure from PLV, and tap also looks fine.. which leaves the cartridge (brand new) or filter head.
Any info be greatly appreciated (I did try to search but only found one post about setting the bypass to 10, which didn't help.)Tags: None
