Hah, asked Andy about the 1kg bags a couple of weeks ago. Anyway found them at Ministry Of Grounds web site. Now have enough for the foreseeable future, ah well all good

Good stuff Andy, my problem solved.

Will order some green beans in the next few days along with some bags.

We have 250g valved zip bags in BeanBay and will have some other options in the future.
Guessed it was to do with turnover Andy, don't imagine they would be a fast mover.

Maybe Andy has switched to bags that require heat sealing prior to use of the zipper too.
Spot-on. We changed to "box bottom bags" here which require heat sealing, not a problem for us but useless for most home roasters. We only use 500g and 2.5kg bags as the 1kg ones are really a throwback to supermarket coffee. Most domestic customers prefer the freshness of 500g bags and the 2.5kg ones are for the higher turnover commercial customers.

We have 250g valved zip bags in BeanBay and will have some other options shortly.

Weirdness. I've never seen one of those types of bags before. Learn something new every day!

Not true for the Rippa bags Java. They only “close” by heat sealing. Then you tear off a strip that covers a zip lock portion on the front face of the bag.

Stand up pouches (old CS bags) are different and the zipper is usable to seal regardless.

Most box bottom bags now are the new Rippa style.

    Thanks for the reply people.

Not interested in heat sealing, simply looking for 1 KG zip lock one way valve bags.

Could always buy a cheap heat sealer. Costs less than a bag of beans.
Ah yep have seen some cheap heat sealer around, I'll give the iron a go first and see how that pans out, cheers

I have a heat/vacuum sealer from kmart/target and use that on my bags and it works an absolute treat. Cost maybe $40?

I however didn't realise that they don't come already heatsealed, so was shocked when I got them haha, but I've heard of others using an iron to heatseal, so I'm gonna give that a go [emoji14]
