I'll have my coffee the way I prefer it, not the way some snotty nosed barista tells me I should have it.
I like this "Last month, the shop started stocking milk and cream behind the bar for people who ask (it’s still not sitting out in the open and was secretly poured for a few months before that" the spartan policy was obviously having a detrimental affect on the bottom line.

Very interesting BBC program on smartphone addiction and how apps are developed to prey on people's triggers and weaknesses.Originally posted by CafeLotta View PostI'd suggest that rather than exacerbate it a bit, it demands it and preys on the human need to be included and acknowledged. I've no doubt that the development of the various social media platforms was largely guided by company Psychologists and the like, manipulating people's behaviour to keep them addicted to their social media sites, thereby reaping mega dollars due to this addiction.

yep i do the same thing. a double shot or a big glug of cold brew and you emerge surprisingly refreshed and ready to go.Originally posted by Lyrebird View PostCoffee naps work brilliantly. Drink double shot, have a nap. Wake up 20 minutes later when the caffeine kicks in, ready for the second shift.
I do a lot of >12 hour working days during vintage and these can be a great help.

Our staff is collectively pro-naps. A short midday snooze resets tired brains, improves creativity, and keeps crankiness at bay. But how to keep the naps from turning into straight-up sleeping, which makes us feel groggy and out of it? Drink coffee before napping.
