Knew a guy who considered himself an expert on mixing magic mushrooms with other drugs. Other than unwarranted persecution by police and mental health authorities, he assured me they never did him any harm.Originally posted by flynnaus View PostPerhaps it is the 'magic' variety of mushroom and after imbibing, it tastes like anything your altered senses make of it.

Heard years ago that once you got over the smell you had it licked. Memory is a bit hazy but I think it was in reference to durian, or something very much like it.Originally posted by flynnaus View PostWhen I was in Malaysia a few years ago, you could buy durian coffee. Never tried it.

My first experience with durian I was not a fan, couldn't see what the fuss was about. Then I tried the top quality varieties that came from Malaysia. Very expensive but on a whole new level. In Singapore (and likely other places) you are not allowed to take them on public transport because of the smell and possibly also because of the prickly skin.Originally posted by OCD View PostHeard years ago that once you got over the smell you had it licked. G'day Steve...
I don't believe that they are a native to PNG but were brought in by Indonesian and S.E. Asian immigrants many decades ago. Quite a few expats had them in their gardens that were planted many moons before we ever got there; and probably before any expats were ever there
Mal.
