Rocket Giotto- Pump will not always start when switching machine on
It can depend on the design of the level control board. On the first one I did the level probe on one input of the comparator has a higher impedance than the voltage divider on the other, so parasitic capacitances cause a small RC time constant to delay the input which means the pump starts whenever the machine is turned on. The pump stays on for a few seconds due to the time delay on the comparator output (to prevent nuisance switching).
On the new one I have put a small capacitor across the voltage divider so it shouldn't do this (haven't built it up yet so I can't confirm).
That's absolutely normal mate.
It's just the boiler water being topped up when ever the level drops below the sensing probe.
The water level drops when ever you use Steam or Hot Water...
Mal.
Thanks a lot. Happy to hear that! I had a feeling the machine will be smarter than that.
