  • Cupping Event in Brisbane Aus?

G'day everyone, I'm Glenn and new to all things coffee...

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any cupping events coming up in Brisbane Australia, and can pass on the details please. Not fazed if it's free or has to be paid for, I just have a friend who wants to learn the finer points about coffee.

Have found a few on Event brite but none fit in timing wise. Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards.

I have done cupping with Campos in Brisbane twice and both times were excellent - I learnt a lot about the industry and coffee tasting.
From memory it was around $30 a person and goes for about an hour.
You get a great overview of how coffee is grown, harvested, prepared (and the different methods) then finally roasted. You also then get to taste coffee in the true "cupping" sense which probably goes for about 20 mins or so, much more and your palate gets a bit meh.
You also get a small bag of coffee at the end to bring home.
I loved it so much I went a couple months later with a friend.
Jump on their website and they have pretty regular sessions - I think both of mine were a Saturday morning around 11am ish.

      Thanks for the reply.
I asked them but they said they were understaffed and couldn't run one...oh well, will keep on looking.

        Ahhh that's a bummer.
When I did it - admittedly a number of years ago now, there was a lovely Colombian lady who took the presentation and it was fabulous. Hopefully the staffing levels come back up and they can do one again soon.
