    Mostly water, plus a bit of detergent*. The detergent may degrade slightly over time at that pH but probably not enough to affect the function of the mix markedly (the acids do the work, the detergent just helps them get where they need to be).




    *The evidence for this is the density of the solution. Both citric and glycolic will contribute about 0.02 to SG** at 5% concentration, so there's no room for anything else. There are a few things (like ethanol) that would lower the density of the solution but they are all declarable.


    ** the density of ternary mixtures is not a linear function of the component densities but you need to delve into statistical thermodynamics to calculate the differences, at these concentrations we can safely ignore them.

    Shelf Life of Triple Action descaler?

    Does anybody know what the shelf life of the "Clean Machine Triple Action descaler is?

    Found a couple of bottles at the back of the cupboard which are a few years old (maybe 6-7?).

    Don't really want to be using it if it's not actually doing anything due to possibly losing effectiveness over time?
