Sat it on the trailer hitch while unloading, hopped in and drove off.

Yes, I did hear the trailer run over it and knew at that instant how dumb I was, sigh.

    (insert sad face here)

Contigo has been a reliable friend, used once or twice a day for pretty close to forever as you can see from the wear marks on the base. Can't image a drive to work without it.

I'd take it back to the retailer and assert your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

I do like the Contigo (or Avex - same company) travel mugs.
Got a few different models over the years. Costco have been our best place to find them. Haven't run over any, but have dropped many, had 2 fly out of bicycle drink holders and generally use them until they die.

Nice collection of loved cups and a good tip on the Avex, I didn't know that.

My flat-white cup was the old "narrow/tall" model as it was the only one that fitted in a Euro cupholder, now I drive a dunnydoor and the newer wide Contigo fits (just). I know this for certain because I did pinch Paula's when I came to work yesterday and was happy to see it fit in my car.

Didn't manage to "borrow" one today though as both owners in the house got all protective of theirs.

So yes, will have to replace it now.
