Who is the 2008 NSW Barista Champion

Hi,

There seems to be a real lack of information on who is the NSW Barista champion. From my understanding the championship final was yesterday but cant find details about what happened anywhere not even on the AASCA website, as it has not been updated yet when I checked it last.

Anyone know anything?

It was actually on Saturday, and as David says, Hazel was the winner.

There were nine competitors, Michael Oo was second, and third was a chap from Gloria Jeans whose name escapes me at present.

It was a good day. Long. But maybe that was just for me seeing as CityRail so helpfully replaced all the trains between the Central Coast and Central Station with buses >

I even spotted one Andy Freeman lurking throughout the afternoon...

Gloria Jeans - interesting. 3rd place in WA was also from Gloria Jeans, although NOT using GJs coffee, she was using 5 Senses coffee.

Is there a credibility push on from GJs?

I suspect so. There were two folks from GJs who did the Judges Calibration when I did, and they seem pretty into training people up properly and pushing the bar higher.
