We are spending the long weekend in the Southern Highlands (Berrima). Anyone know cafes with great coffee??

I think Viviane is from that way. And if I recall correctly, she has said in the past that there arent any of great note...unless of course that has changed.

Argon, you would be more than welcome to drop by, Im in Moss Vale, about 15 minutes away from Berrima. PM me and well sort out some details.

I have to say that I dont know anything about coffee in Berrima, for some strange reason I havent had one there. If youre heading into Bowral there are a couple of ok places - Ive had good coffees at Palate Pleasure and Coffee Culture. In Mittagong I get coffee from Michels Patisserie in the mall, but only if the owner is making it - strangley enough her name is Vivian, though I dont actually know her. Il Pranzo in Moss Vale isnt too bad either.

When Ive gone to Berrima Ive dropped in at the pub for a pint of Guinness. It may be the closest thing in that town to a nice glass of strong, black liquid gold . Doesnt appear to be much quality on the coffee front :-/.

Even in Bowral, which has about a thousand cafes, there doesnt seem to be much quality. I generally drop in to Coffee Culture (behind the cinema) who roast their own - pretty good usually.

It seems to be like that everywhere you go now. Everyone serving up coffee with no idea how to do it & using the cheapest nastiest beans they can get.

Having just spent the weekend in Bowral Ill second that, having tried them both on the preceding recommendations.

              I preferred Coffee Culture.

Hi, an old post I know but I am moving to Mittagong and want to know if anything has changed in the last few years cafe wise.
On my last visit I had an amazing choc croissant in Bowral at a bakery on the main drag. Also a nice coffee from "Jet"? cafe on the main road at mittagong. Had a great decor also.
So, where else is there? Is Coffee Culture still good?
                Thanks

Well, Id avoid Berrima coffee-wise. Joshs Cafe is OK (and much more than ok for bistro-style food), but the rest of the coffee options are pretty ordinary (a couple would rank in my all time least favourite coffees).
                  Cheers
