you travel from home to Melbourne to Newcastle to Moruya, Merimbula, Sydney back to Melbourne in 5 days and the best coffee is the last one before leaving home and the first one when you get back. If I'd gone to Narooma it would've be a different story, maybe next time.

So there is no decent coffee at Merimbula then? May be going later in the year...Originally posted by chokkidog View Postyou travel from home to Melbourne to Newcastle to Moruya, Merimbula, Sydney back to Melbourne in 5 days and the best coffee is the last one before leaving home and the first one when you get back. the trip wasn't business and certainly not pleasure but with the plethora of machines and people boasting "great coffee" it's a shame that the odds of good coffee at any one place are so heavily stacked against you. All grinders were dosers, one of my pet hates in cafe settings. The predominant flavour through the trip was ash. Can't say that you won't find good coffee in Merimbula but with the limited time I had, I didn't. For the most part everyone did a good job of the milk (those that used fresh milk in an empty jug) but I was after a coffee...............
