Re: Coffee at Mooloolaba
Thanks for the kind words guys. The Espresso Bar at the airport is owned and run by us, we try to keep the same strict standards at both locations so its nice to hear the coffee was good.
It would be great to be able to get good coffee on the esplanade. In fact I know of 3 people looking at doing something there including some forum members. The biggest problem on the esplanande is the cost of rent, 2-3 cafes go under every year. per square metre it is more expensive on the esplanade than Brisbane CBD, with a 10th the foot traffic. Not that the right place cant make it work. Fingers crossed that by your next visit it will host a great espresso bar.

Re: Coffee at Mooloolaba
Plank, the cafe at Maroochydore airport next to the booking in area is owned and managed by Pioneer.
Jimmy Im in total agreement with you, the most excitement Ive had on the strip is watching the trawler strand itself and the rescue operation in the heavy swells that went with it that you would have seen on the news.
The poor guys were getting soaked and most probably close to hyperathamia so I thought to myself that someone should get them some great hot coffee (was massive swells, wind and pouring rain) but I then remembered where I was and what the quality was like and figured that it would most probably do them more harm then good.

Re: Coffee at Mooloolaba
Just returned from Mooloolaba and the mob who roast and sell in Yandina supply one of the the cafes at the airport. Had a flat white and it was really good. Tasty, good crema, probably the best I have had in a week of holidaying. Hope I dont have to keep driving out to the airport or to Yandina all the time on subsequent trips to the Sunshine Coast.
However, there is a little kiosk at Alexandra Headland surf club that also makes a passible coffee.

Re: Coffee at Mooloolaba
I was up there recently and drove to Pioneer as often as I could. Seriously worth the drive. Or as a bare minimum if your apartment has a plunger, drive to Yandina have an espresso and buy a bag of 250g of their finest and make coffee at your accommodation !
