Spot on, the sugar syrup helps greatly, that’s why most people prefer a flavoured espresso martini as the base for the flavour is a sugar syrup.
nice to hear you found out how to enjoy it

gooie Espresso Martini did you use a shot or espresso or just the coffee liquor?
I used both. I made a standard Espresso Martini recipe but substituted the Mr Black for the Kahlua. Have made it again since my original post. Added a dash of sugar syrup which makes a huge difference.

I picked up a bottle as I wanted to try something different from Kahlua in an espresso martini. Didn't really work that well in the martini but I love the stuff on it's own.

That's awesome that you had the opportunity to take a look around with the owner.

It's good stuff, still a little bit too "generic coffee flavour" for my liking (possibly due to the significant Brazil content), but for an off the shelf product it's great. They used to get a local roster to supply the beans but now employ their own roaster full time to keep up.
My wifewife and I stumbled across their distillery (Distillery Botanica) almost by accident, managed to see a small tourist sign while getting lost on the central coast thought and it sounded with a visit. They happened to be open, which we found out was unusual for a Tuesday. But that meant they're were no staff just the owner who have us a tour and tasting. This was before it was available from Uncle Dan M, but he mentioned the deal was in the works. Most things they do are pretty great, they used to do an aniseed liqueur that was incredible, but apparently there wasn't enough of a market for it. They still do their raspberry liqueur, which I could drink with a straw, it's amazing. Apparently they just take their standard base vodka and soak 500g of raspberries per litre in a big stainless drum for a month or so (same method as their coffee one, whole beans soaked in vodka). If ever you get the chance to try the coffee or raspberry I can't recommend it highly enough.

What can I say Sometimes Google's suggested articles lead you down the right path. Needless to say, after finding out this stuff existed I just had to get some I've been enjoying it on the rocks although I have found a few different ways to mix it straight is fantastic. Anyway, if anyone else has found this stuff I'd love to hear what you think if you've never heard of it you're welcome.
