  • Coffee Machine Repairs

    Hi There 🙂

I have a Faema Compact, which we have owned for about 16 years, it had a full overhaul and some mod's when we acquired in second hand. Recently the heating element blew. I am aware that replacements are now difficult to come by, but have located a source in the UK.

My issue now is locating someone that can do an overhaul on the machine and replace the element. So I was wondering if anyone could recommend a technician in the Melbourne area.

I have tried contacting Rick Bond "The Coffee Machinist" (is he still working?) with no luck to date.

It would help if you gave us the exact model that you have as Faema has made quite a few different compact machines over the years they've been around.

According to the plague on the front of the machine it's a "Compact"

The second image isn't my machine but the same model

I would have thought if you have access to an assortment of tools you could install a new element yourself, if you are relatively handy that is. I suspect the element will be a little difficult to remove, nothing that patience won’t cure. Maurice

Where are you based? I've had good experiences with Coffee Machine Technologies in Tullamarine Victoria

Neat, it appears you may have the original Faema Compact model. I would suggest using the QUOTE link found at the top and bottom of every page. This will send your request to every Sponsor and those who can provide the service you need, or can point you to someone who can, will respond back to you. Include as much information as possible in the Quote request for the best responses.

Birkin7 if it was just the element, yes that could be a DIY project, but I think after 16 years it's probably ready for a de-scale and general overhaul.

nickm we're in Richmond, I'll give them a try 👍

Javaphile Thanks I'll give that a whirl if all else fails 🙂

I had an element custom made by a Sydney company for a discontinued Brasilia. Was around $160 which I thought was pretty fair.

Thanks noidle22 that sounds like it could be a good option the source I've found in the UK has the elements at GBP 72.00, so when you facture in freight $160 is looking pretty competitive. What is the name of the company?

Quick update, finally got a quote from Coffee Machine Warehouse, which I will go with.

Coffee Machine Technologies who I also contacted failed to even acknowledge recipet of my email, so they're now on my blacklist.

Rick Bond "The Coffee Machinist" appears not to be in the industry (or possibly worse) any longer as his socials have not been touched since last year, and he too has failed to respond to emails or voice mail on his mobile.

I too tried getting in contact with him with no response to emails. I do hope he is ok
