  • Compak Grinder Auction

Not sure if anyone is interested, just came in as an Email, has a bunch of Compak grinders in different models. No idea what prices they will end up. But I think you have to pick them up in person which might rule it out for most, although I daresay they'd have to have some allowances for lockdown. No affiliation etc, just a heads up. Never used them but seem pretty legit.

You'll probably have to lose the link or the mods will do it for you.

True. Except now I can't seem to edit it.

Done, kind of makes the post pointless. No worries.

You could edit it to have the search words required to find it via Google

Promoting an auction is sort of pointless, the only winner is the seller.

While I understand a CS'r motivation to share a good find with others, the actual result is 58,000 members bidding on the same item, ensuring we are all competing against each other and paying too much.

For the member that hoped to get a bargain, they instead have to pay top dollar.

We have always had the no auction rule to stop people pimping auctions (about a billion ebay seller would promote rubbish here) and to stop our community members paying more than they have to if they found an auction.

Of course, posting "google this auction" has nearly the same effect.

The few rules we have were caressed over 16 years to protect our community, they really don't exist for some weird admin power-trip.

Fair enough, but there were about 130 of them up for sale in separate lots. I am assuming the Distributor went bust or something.

...we have 2500 people online this minute. 5% would pay too much and 95% would miss out after bumping the price up if they were all interested in it.

Again, the only winner in a promoted auction is the seller. Please don't punish those in the community that wanted to get a bargain.
I never doubted your motivation, just doubted you thought about the result of publishing it here.
        Working...
